Workshop and Installation

German & English

„Recepies of Life: An Open Archive“ is an interactive installation curated by NEXUS Collective that treats recipes as living archives. Rather than instructions for making food, they become vessels for memory, ritual, and lived experience.

In collaboration with Coolinarik, food preparation was part of a collective experience and a space to share stories.

Bachelor Thesis

German

This bachelor’s thesis explores preservation as a way of carrying values, knowledge, and intentions into the future. Taking food preservation as a starting point, it considers how everyday acts of keeping, transforming, and passing on can reproduce existing worlds while also shaping new ones. A practice-based guide translates these ideas into everyday experience.

Regenerative Cycles
Stéphanie Binet
2025
Calendar

English

This calendar presents time as a cyclical process rather than a linear sequence of days. It is structured around seasonal rhythms and consists of scores that can be performed once or several times throughout the year. These scores invite us to pay attention to the shared rhythms of nature, people, and other living beings, and to understand time as something that emerges through practice, change, and renewal. The calendar can be reused after each completed cycle.

Satisfy my Hunger. Exploring food and desire.

Interactive Installation

German & English

The participatory format Satisfy My Hunger invited participants into an intimate exploration of the sensual potential of food. The boundaries of familiar eating rituals were crossed, and participants were invited to explore their senses in a playful way, either freely according to their desires or with the help of prompts.

Alles(s) in einein Topf

Stéphanie Binet
2025
Publication

German

The publication Alle(s) in einen Topf playfully appropriates the notion of the “national dish” to expose the reductive logic through which nation-states construct seemingly fixed and coherent identities. By presenting each dish through a standardized format, dividing countries into EU and non-EU categories, and arranging them alphabetically, the publication amplifies the absurdity of reducing complex, fluid cultures to singular national stereotypes.

Residency & Publication

Symbiosis is an artistic-research space that invites participants to engage in a shared exchange. Here, symbiosis is understood not merely as a metaphor, but as a concrete practice of thought and action based on reciprocity.

During a residency, organized by NEXUS COllective, thirteen people from various creative fields—photography, theater, performance, and visual arts—explored the theme of collective practice.

A publication emerged from these processes and insights.

Installation

In uphill, downhill,  biographical processes are explored and translated into topographical and culinary terms. Food items are arranged along a mountain trail that ascends and then descends, and their themes are based on this path. Visitors are thus invited to embark on a culinary journey through the symbolic highs and lows of college life.

Open till seven

Stéphanie BinetHochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst Basel (CH)2025
Perfromance

German

The performance builds on the Stone Soup project, which focused on and explored collective cooking as an artistic practice and political act. Drawing on this experience, the follow-up performance asks: What remains once the act of cooking, sharing, and exchanging together is over?

The performance Open till seven navigates the threshold between gesture and action, symbol and reality. It raises questions about participation, visibility, and the conditions under which people speak, or remain silent, in both art and politics.

Performed on June 12, 25 @ HGK, 5–7 p.m.
